University of York

iGGi Manager

iGGi Admin

Born in South Yorkshire….too much? I studied Sport & Recreation Studies at Staffordshire University, worked as a Sports Development Officer for several years before emigrating to Australia, where I joined the Higher Education sector and worked in several different roles at the University of Adelaide. I returned to the UK in 2015 and began working at the University of York. A few roles in and here I am Graduate School & iGGi Manager in the Department of Computer Science.

As IGGI Manager based at York, I work to ensure that our researchers have access to the support and resources they need to produce the research results and theses that are a credit to themselves and to the CDT; meeting the dual aims of the programme:

  • IG (Intelligent Games): inventing new technologies and creating new knowledge which can be used to make better commercial games; and

  • GI (Game Intelligence): creating and investigating new genres where games are used as a tool for society and science

I manage the iGGi budget across all sites, managing iGGi  researcher discretionary funding applications with support from the York iGGi administrator, Helen Tilbrook. I am available to offer advice and guidance of iGGi processes and procedures as well as offer pastoral support and signposting to other services offered at the University when necessary.
